Philosophy of Practice

I recognize the sanctity of child birth and respect that each birth is unique in its own right. I understand that birth is a natural and normal process that the body knows how to do which therefore should make the access to homebirths necessary for low risk pregnancies. I believe in the importance of collaborative care when needed to protect the health and mind of the parent and infant. The relationship between the midwife and the client is one built on being informed and shared decision making in order to attain the care that is based on the individual. I trust that God has created the body with the ability to birth a child and if difficulties present themselves, I recognize that other care is available and may be necessary.

God Called Me Here!

I am a Minot, ND based birth doula and if you’re looking to feel empowered through childbirth, you’ve come to the right place! I come from a background in birth work as I come from granny midwives. I have been attending births for a large part of my life! In August 2020, I became officially trained as a birth doula, an area my ancestors knew all to well. The passion that I have for birth work radiates through my every day conversation and the way I honor and respect each of my clients. Often times, birth is treated as something that isn’t normal. Your body created a beautiful being and with my help, you will birth this being!

I have been married to my wonderful husband for 10 years and we created three handsome boys who are now 7, 4, and 6 months. We are a military family as I am an Air Force veteran and my husband is Air Force active duty. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management and currently working on my Bachelor’s degree in Midwifery as I am also a student midwife. My passion for birth work flows deeply and I want all birthers to feel empowered by the informed choices that they choose to make!
